Future Artists Program
This program is for teens who are serious about art — whether they dream of entering an academy or simply want to deepen their own creative path. As a practising artist and experienced tutor, I guide students in exploring their passions, building strong portfolios, and gaining real insight into the contemporary art world. Classes are highly personal: from small group sessions with critique and exchange, to private lessons fully tailored to the student’s needs.
What is it ?
with a strong affinity for art. Whether your goal is to prepare for admission to an art academy like the KABK, or to use art as a way to better understand yourself and your creative voice, this program offers the right support.
As a professional artist active in the contemporary art scene, I provide something many tutors can’t: real insight into the contemporary art world, alongside years of experience teaching young people. I know what art academies are looking for — curiosity, independence, and the drive to make work, and I help students explore their passions while guiding them through the creative process.
Classes are tailored to the individual. I give off-beat assignments that spark curiosity and push students to think about what art can be, and why it matters. Together we discuss exhibitions, films, and artists, and I encourage students to follow their own fascinations. Along the way, I offer advice on materials, techniques, and digital media.
There are two ways to take part:
- Group classes (max. 5 students): a small artist community where students create work, exchange feedback, and inspire each other through critique sessions.
- Private classes: one-on-one guidance at Het Kalhuis or at home, where I tailor assignments and advice fully to the student’s needs.
Whichever path you choose, the program is about making art exciting and personal — and about giving teens the confidence to grow as artists in their own right.
Flexible & Personal
Busy with exams, sports, or music? No problem. Unlike fixed academy prep courses, I offer flexible scheduling that adapts to each student’s calendar. Sessions can take place at Het Kalhuis in Scheveningen or privately at your home.
Creativity First
The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague doesn’t look for perfect perspective drawings — they look for curiosity, experimentation, and the drive to make art. My program starts there: helping teens find their own direction, rather than ticking boxes.
Prep for Art Academy
As a KABK Fine Arts graduate, I know what admissions committees want to see. For those interested, I guide students step-by-step through portfolio development, building confidence for interviews, and learning to communicate their motivation.
Active Artist Mentorship
I don’t just teach — I work, exhibit, and live as a contemporary artist. Students gain an authentic view into the art world, with insight into exhibitions, studios, and the creative process behind a real practice.
International & Multilingual
I teach in Dutch, English, or Russian — a real plus for international and expat families. With six years of teaching experience (especially with teenagers), I know how to create a learning environment that is both inspiring and challenging.
